Carmel Cottage Inn, LLC (“Carmel Cottage Inn”) is committed to maintaining the confidentiality, privacy, and security of user information.  We may update this policy from time to time, so please check here frequently.  Carmel Cottage Inn will not disclose identifiable user information to any third party without your consent.

Carmel Cottage Inn is committed to protecting your privacy while visiting the Carmel Cottage Inn website, namely, carmelcottageinn.com (all URLs are collectively identified as the “Site”).  We want to deliver you the information, resources and services that are most relevant to you.  To do this, part of the operation of the Site includes gathering of certain types of information about the Site users.  Because we understand that your privacy is important, we want to explain the types of information we gather and the way in which we use it.  This Privacy Policy applies to the Site.

Collection and Use of Information.  We try to make certain that any personal information you may provide is not used of in a way that you may be unaware of or not agreeable to.  For example, should you have a question or like information about our services or availability, we may ask for information such as your name, e-mail or postal address.  In the event you provide us with this information, we will only use it for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Any forms which are used to gather personal information will provide an opt-out button to allow you to choose not to participate in any future online marketing efforts of Carmel Cottage Inn.  We do not sell, rent, or share any of your personal information with any other third party including any third-party joint promoters, not use it for unapproved commercial purposes.  You may request to be removed from our lists at any time.  All emails distributed from our lists will contain easy, online access to unsubscribe.
Permission for Use.  Carmel Cottage Inn may collect and use personal information that you submit at the Site in any manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy or otherwise disclosed at the Site at the time personal information is submitted.  The intended use of any personal information you submit will be clear from the context in which it is submitted.  By submitting personal information, you are consenting to giving permission for any use that is consistent with this Privacy Policy or disclosed elsewhere at the Site, and your consent and permission will be presumed by Carmel Cottage Inn, unless you state otherwise at the time you submit the personal information.  As a result, please do not request communications on behalf of an individual or company if you are not authorized to make such request.
Reservations.  If you decide to make an online reservation through the Site, you will be linked and directed to a reservation interface and a third party booking engine (“Booking Engine”) provided by www.homeaway.com.  It may appear to be part of the Site, but please be ware that the Booking Engine is provided by a third party and is governed by its privacy practices.
Protecting Your Information.  To protect your personal information submitted at the Site, we host the Site in a secure environment.  The Site servers/systems are configured with data encryption, or scrambling, technologies, and industry-standard firewalls.  In addition, should you ever be required to entre personal information during a guest email sign-sup, your data is protected by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to ensure safe transmission.
Withdrawing Consent to Use.  If, after permitting use of your personal information, you later decide that you no longer want Carmel Cottage Inn to include you on any mailing list or otherwise contact you or use your personal information in the manner disclosed in this Privacy Policy, you may convey this desire by sending us an e-mail, or by clicking on the “Unsubscribe” button at the bottom of our email communication to you.
Using Aggregated Data.  Carmel Cottage Inn wants to continually improve the Site, including developing and offering new features and services.  We may monitor aggregated data regarding use of the Site for marketing purposes and to study, improve, and promote use of the Site.  In connection with such efforts, Carmel Cottage Inn may share aggregated data with third parties collectively and in an anonymous way.  Disclosure of aggregated data does not reveal personal information about individual Site users in any way that identifies who they are or how to contact them.

Children’s Privacy and Parental Consent.  Please know that this Site has not been designed and is not intended for use by anyone under age 18.  Our Privacy Policy prohibits us from accepting users who are under the age of 18, so we ask that persons under the age of 18 not use the Site or submit or post information to the Site.  Should Carmel Cottage Inn inadvertently acquire personal information from users who are under the age of 18, Carmel Cottage Inn will not knowingly provide this data to any third party for any purpose whatsoever, and any subsequent disclosure would be due to the fact that the user under age 18 used the Site and submitted personal information without solicitation or permission from Carmel Cottage Inn.
Links to Other Sites.  Carmel Cottage Inn may provide links to other web sites that may offer information and services that we believe are useful to you.  Those sites may not follow the same privacy practices as Carmel Cottage Inn.  So, Carmel Cottage Inn cannot be responsible for the privacy policies or the actions of third parties, including, without limitation, any web site owners whose sites may be reached through this Site, nor can we control the activities of those web sites.  We recommend you review the privacy policies and data collection practices of these third-party web sites before submitting any personal information or other sensitive data.
Consent.  Your use of the Site signifies your consent, as well as the consent of any company for whom you are using the Site and whose information you submit, to this on-line Privacy Policy, and signifies agreement to the terms of use for the Site. Continued access and use of the Site without acceptance of the terms of this Privacy Policy relieves Carmel Cottage Inn from responsibility to the user.
